Tis The Season…to go bowling!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere I go. On my trip to the grocery store last night I found myself lost in an isle of garland and candy canes and my first thought was to  remind everyone to book their Christmas parties with Royal Z Lanes this year. It’s never to early to plan your company or family holiday outing with us. It doesn’t matter if you are a family of  four or a large company, Royal Z is the place to be for your holiday fun! Call Today to  reserve your spot.

To help celebrate the holidays, Royal Z is running the seventh annual Holiday No-Tap Tournament. This tournament is open to all of our V.I.P. league bowlers. The qualifying cost is only $2.00. Entrants use their three games of normal league play and score them in the no-tap format (knock down 9 and it counts as a strike!). Sign up at the control desk before league play begins and watch for your name to be posted on our wall of qualifiers!

Royal Z Lanes will also be running a turkey shoot starting November 16th. Entry into the turkey shoot is limited to our V.I.P. league bowlers. The cost is $3.00 and all you have to do is strike in the correct frames and you will walk out of the center with your Thanksgiving turkey!(limit one per bowler per night)

Simply the Best …….

Anchor Lanes has once again been voted the “Best Bowling Alley” in the Midlands by the readers of The Free Times. We would like to say thanks to all those who participated in the survey and let their voice be heard.

We are your number one location for fun and entertainment. Whether you are planning a fundraiser, company party, birthday party, church outing or just an evening of fun, we can take care of you. Our fall leagues are on the floor but there are still opportunities for you to join in on the excitement because there is always something fresh in the air in Irmo.

It may be getting colder outside but the lanes are on fire in Irmo. This week we have had 5 300 games and 2 800 series. Monday Night in the Anchor Lanes Shootout League sponsored by Siding Plus there were three perfect games. Young gun Paul Hudak, Ray “the pro shop guy” Comer and Kevin Norton pounded out twelve in a row. It was the first of Norton’s career. Ron Medlock put together games of 259-289-279 for an 827 series.

Tuesday Night in the Corner Pocket League John “the legend” Theilen belted another 300 adding to his long list of honor scores. In the Men’s Commercial League Adam Rush busted out games of 263-279-258 for his first career 800 series. In the same league Ray “the pro shop guy” Comer busted out with his second perfect game in as many days.

This Monday Night we will have another installment of our bi-weekly sweeper. The November 2nd tournament winner was Justin Addy who posted a four game total of 1008. Phillip Hudak finished second with a 993. Hudak leads the year end standings with 49 points. Joe Penvose is currently second with 39 points. You have to bowl in 2/3 of the events to qualify for the end of the year tournament so time is running out to join in on the action. The entry fee is $30 with each bowler rolling four games across eight lanes with total pinfall scratch determining the winner.
